THG’s Lookfantastic to open concept store

THG-owned online beauty retailer Lookfantastic is set to open a physical store in the Greater Manchester town of Altrincham

The store is set to occupy the George Street unit vacated by JD Sports.

Lookfantastic, acquired by THG in 2010, was one of the UK’s first digital beauty retailers.

The store opening comes after the group highlighted the success of its beauty division as a key driver of growth. Lookfantastic opened a pop-up shop in London in Christmas 2023, but the Altrincham branch will be a permanent shop.

“We’re excited to bring the Lookfantastic experience to life with our concept store,” says Lucy Gorman, chief executive officer, THG Beauty, “This innovative retail space goes beyond products, offering a unique and immersive beauty destination. It perfectly complements our omnichannel strategy, bridging the gap between our established online community and
the success of our pop-up events.” Customers will have the opportunity to purchase products from 90 brands across skin care, hair care, cosmetics, and fragrance including Color Wow, Sol De Janeiro, NARS and YSL.

Yesterday, THG unveiled a new multi-year partnership with Frasers Group, which will integrate the Frasers Plus credit offer into its Ingenuity platform while the Mike Ashley-controlled business snapped up the online group’s luxury brands business, including Coggles.

As part of the partnership, THG will support Frasers with courier management services and re-platforming its Australian fulfilment and logistics operations. A curated range of Myprotein products are also set to be launched in-store at Sports Direct, including the Hyrox x Myprotein range.

The retail store is set to open in September 2024.
