Mango bolsters homeware offer with new director

Mango has appointed Nuria Font as the new director of Mango Home as it looks to strengthen its homeware offer.

Font joined the Spanish fashion retailer back in 2006 as product manager in commercial product management and has held various senior positions within the company since, most recently director of Mango’s wholesale department.

She succeeds Laura Vila, who spent 17 years with the retailer and led the launch of the home line in 2021. Vila is now leaving to “embark on new professional challenges.”

Last year, the group launched new lines across its homeware offer and is now looking to extend the range online to new markets such as Turkey this year. While next year it is planning to open Mango Home physical stores for the first time.

Its home products are currently available in five physical multi-line stores in cities including Madrid, Barcelona and Zaragoza, as well as in 32 online marketplaces, mainly in Europe and the US.

In a statement, Mango said: “The new management, which will help achieve the objectives set out in the new Strategic Plan 2024-2026, will reinforce Mango Home’s value proposition through aspirationalism, quality and individual style.”

Alongside growing its home offer, the retailer is also doubling down on its UK operations with plans to open more than 20 new stores this year across the UK.

It will grow its footprint in London and Scotland, as well as open in selected cities in Northern Ireland, central and southern England for the first times. At least four new stores are planned for London.
