John Lewis Partnership names interim finance boss

John Lewis Partnership has appointed Andy Mounsey as its interim executive director for finance from 6 September.

Currently the partnership’s group finance and strategy director, Mounsey has worked at the business for over a decade in a host of senior finance roles.

He previously worked at EY for 13 years, where he advised large listed clients globally across the consumer sector.

The news follows an announcement in April that the current John Lewis Partnership executive finance director, Bérangère Michel, has decided to leave the business after 16 years.

Michel will step down in the autumn after deciding “to pursue her future career options outside of the partnership”.

Mounsey will join the partnership’s executive team on 1 July to facilitate a smooth handover, officially succeeding Michel on 6 September when she steps down.

John Lewis Partnership chief executive officer Nish Kankiwala said: “Andy is a highly experienced and valued member of our finance team, with a deep understanding of the Partnership and the retail sector.

“I am delighted that Andy is able to support the Partnership during this interim phase to ensure a smooth transition and our continued focus on executing against our transformation plan.”

Mounsey said: “I’m incredibly privileged to be taking on this role. The Partnership‘s finances are in a healthy position enabling us to invest significantly across the business for our customers. I’m looking forward to working with the board and executive team to continue our transformation journey.”
