Retail giants John Lewis, Argos and Amazon are among the big names kicking off summer sales in a bid to boost trading.
John Lewis launched its sale today, offering up to 50% of selected lines and brands. The retailer has thousands of offers on tech, nursery, beauty and clothing and home, with big named brands such as Clarins available, though deals are running for a “limited time only”, until 21 July.
John Lewis director of marketing Rosie Hanley said: “We know our customers are always on the hunt for a great deal, but without having to compromise on fantastic quality. Our latest sale brings the best deals across much-loved brands, taking away the hard work to find great value.”
Last week, Argos launched its summer sale, with 1,000s of offers available across home furniture, beauty essentials, home electricals, jewellery, toys and more.
The retailer said shoppers can save up to half on selected products, with offers available until 16 July.
Its big promotion is up to half price off selected outdoor furniture, just in time for the UK’s heatwave this week.
Amazon also confirmed that its Prime Day is back on 16 and 17 July, allowing shoppers to save big on popular brands like Elemis, GHD, Ninja, Samsung, and more.
The online giant said it will be offering its” lowest prices of the year so far on select products” with its sale event starting on 16 July and running until 17 July at 23:59.

A host of other retailers have kicked of summer sales, eager to entice consumers with the best deals, including Clarks, which is offering shoppers up to 60% on selected footwear styles.
Meanwhile, M&S launched its summer sale at the start of this month, giving shoppers up to 50% off clothing, including named brands.
It comes as BRC data found that although two bank holidays helped total sales edge up 0.7% last month, non-food sales came under pressure once again as sales dropped 2.4% over the last quarter.
BRC chief executive Helen Dickinson said: “Despite a strong bank holiday weekend for retailers, minimal improvement to weather across most of May meant only a modest rebound in retail sales last month.
“Although non-food sales fell over the course of the month, the long weekend did see increased purchases of DIY and gardening equipment, as well as strong clothing sales.
